My Birthday

As my birthday fell on a Thursday I had already decided that the big splash would happen on Saturday. 14 people had confirmed that they would show up for dinner on Saturday, so it would be all good. Thursday was kind of quiet. I worked from home like normal on Thursdays and then in the evening, I grabbed the longboard and rolled down to Jamie’s place. He then surprised me with a gift from him and Tine … A new Playstation 2 … Apparently they are tired of me always sucking when we play. Two games were included Tekken and a football game … I was all set.

Then we jumped on the subway and headed down to Wangfujing and the Oriental Plaza where we met Dave and Candy. We headed in to a Japanese restaurant that Dave and Candy liked … I found the food to be mediocre and the service to be horrendous, not to mention that they only had small expensive beers … something tells me I won’t eat there again anytime soon. Tine joined us just as we were finishing dinner (she was fortunate enough not to eat there).

After dinner we headed over to the movie theatre and saw James Bond: Casino Royale. Since I’m a big James Bond fan I thought this was a fitting way to celebrate the day. I really liked the movie and was super happy.

Though the food had sucked, the movie more than made up for it and I could go home with a huge smile on my face.
